China’s Didi Kuaidi Wants To Make Money With New Auto E-Commerce Platform

China s dominant ride-hailing app Didi Kuaidi is trying to monetize its huge pool of users with a press release that it is building the corporate s nascent test drive service right into a platform that connects mobile users to car dealers. Didi says its test drive service launched in October already attracted greater than 1

 

8 million users who made a complete of 1. 4 million orders. The platform allows users to check drive 92 car models from 19 brands including Toyota Mercedes-Benz Lincoln and Audi. The corporate also helps car dealers selling online by designing targeted advertising based on its user data. Didi plans to feature e-commerce functions which includes pricing and demand projections with the goal of letting e-commerce become portion of Didi s day-to-day operations it said in a statement

 

Didi s test drive service isn’t mature company co-founder Cheng Wei said in a press briefing today. But it is a product which will definitely change the car industry. Didi operates in about 259 Chinese cities and plans to expand into 400 by February. The corporate last year said it had broken even in almost half the cities it operates as its subsidy payments were only a quarter of what its closest competitor spends
